Daniel Barefoot brings unique credentials to this work as a former North Carolina Assembly member, historian, folklorist, and magician. His background provides an informed perspective on the state's supernatural history and cultural traditions.
Barefoot has authored twelve books exploring Southern folklore and history, including Haunted Halls of Ivy: Ghosts of Southern Colleges and Universities, Hark the Sound of Tar Heel Voices, and Spirits of '76. From 1998 to 2002, he served three terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 44th district, and has worked as city attorney for Lincolnton, NC.
