Presenting the fundamentals and advanced matter pertinent to the behaviour of materials under conditions such as impact, shock, stress and high strain-rate loadings, this study focuses on a microstructural point of view, which is the future direction of research at this time. Marc André Meyers is an American materials scientist, engineer and Distinguished Professor at the University of California, San Diego. Meyers studies and writes about the dynamic behavior of materials, synthesis, processing, impact testing, and characterization of new materials.
