Summary:

A dystopian American society located on an alternate timeline where Richard Nixon gained dictator-like power, America won the the Vietnam War, and the threat of nuclear war is imminent. A band of outlawed superheroes known as The Watchmen have disbanded in light of the anti-vigilante laws. Most of the movie is narrated by the cynical and psychotic superhero Rorschach while he is investigating the murder of his old comrade, The Comedian. Rorschach is framed and Dr. Manhattan leaves Earth for Mars. Once Rorschach is freed from prison by his former comrades, he finally proves Ozymandias - another former comrade - to be the culprit behind everything. In the end, Ozymandias is confronted and defeated at his Antarctic lair.
