About the AuthorSyverud, Lawrence: - Lawrence Keith Syverud grew up on a South Dakota farm and was fascinated by the indigenous history of the state. He was influenced by Ambassador George McGovern's sister, Olive Briles, to enter teaching. During his career, he taught elementary, secondary and college students. He is a member of the Photographic Society of America, where his photography and journalism have been published.
Martin, Charles: - Charles W. Martin was born in Rochester, Minnesota, where his father designed surgical tools for the Mayo Clinic. This is how his interest in creating began. In first grade, he drew a frog that earned praise from his teacher and peer group. High school art lab was his oasis where creativity could run free. Martin's art education at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the University of Minnesota intensified his mastery of all genres. Through the years, he has taught all ages, and his work is displayed throughout and around Minnesota.
