Description

Electroplating is an electrodeposition process that involves coating a surface with a metal by means of an electric current. Several materials are used for electroplating including copper, nickel, gold, silver and zinc. This process is used to create elements that conduct a larger current such as a micro electrical coil. Electroplating can be applied to deposit relatively thick films of magnetic material to create a larger magnetic force. This mechanism is commonly used in magnetic separation or magnetic force-based actuators.
