Description
"Courts of Air and Earth" is a collection of Trevor Joyce's translations from the Old and Middle Irish, with his remarkable version of the epic "Poems of Sweeny, Peregrine", at the core. Also included are a series of "Love Songs from a Dead Tongue", versions of "Sean O Duibher of the Glen", and selections from the "Danta Gradha".
About the Author
Joyce, Trevor: - Trevor Joyce is an Irish poet. He co-founded New Writers' Press in Dublin in 1967, and is a director of the annual SoundEye Festival in Cork, which he co-founded in 1997. He is a member of Aosdána, the Irish affiliation of artists. He is the author of WITH THE FIRST DREAM OF FIRE THEY HUNT THE COLD (Shearsman Books, 2003), COURTS OF AIR AND EARTH (Shearsman Books, 2006), What's in Store (New Writers' Press & The Gig, 2007), and SELECTED POEMS 1967-2014 (Shearsman Books, 2014).
