Description

This classic film stars Robert Newton as Edward Teach (Captain Blackbeard), Linda Darnell as Edwina Mansfield, William Bendix as Ben Worley, and Torin Thatcher as Sir Henry Morgan. Directed by Raoul Walsh. British Navy Lieutenant, Robert Maynard (Keith Andes) is out to earn a reward and prove that privateer Sir Henry Morgan (Torin Thatcher) is a pirate. Maynard goes undercover, posing as a surgeon on another pirate ship in hopes of getting details of Morgan's crimes. To his misfortune, Maynard chooses the very ship captained by the ruthless Blackbeard (Robert Newton), who killed the previous captain and took his bride-to-be, Edwina (Linda Darnell), hostage. Now Maynard must fight to free himself and Edwina from both Blackbeard and Morgan, who also wants Edwina for his own. Lots of action from start to finish with Blackbeard dealing with Morgan and Maynard, as well as his own greedy crew. It's a real classic not to be missed! (98 minutes - 1952 - Color - 4:3).
