Melvin, Joseph C.: - Joseph C. Melvin, a native of Norfolk, Virginia is an accomplished educator with a notable career in various educational leadership roles. Melvin held positions of principal, community superintendent, superintendent of schools, and college professor. Melvin was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship in education to Berlin, Germany, and participated in educational discussions in Beijing, China. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Melvin holds degrees from Norfolk State University, Hampton University, and a doctorate degree from Virginia Tech. Melvin was a recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award from Norfolk State University.
