She is the founder and CEO of Connected Kids, an organization providing training and consultation in trauma-responsive practices to school districts, schools, child-care centers, Head Start programs, churches, therapists, and community agencies. Dr. Sorrels spent more than 20 years as a classroom teacher, a founder and director of early childhood centers, and a professor in the early childhood education program at Oklahoma State University.
