Traumatized after failing to save a mother and child from a madman, ex-LAPD hostage negotiator Jeff Talley (Bruce Willis) takes work as a sheriff in a quiet California community. He is forced to relive his troubled past, however, when a group of young punks invades the home of a crooked accountant and his family.
