WRITERS OF THE PHILOKALIA: The Early Church Fathers of the Western Christian Tradition are widely known, but the Early Desert Fathers of the Orthodox Church (The Writers of the Philokalia) are not as widely known or understood. What makes them unique is their unusual asceticism. Most of them became hermits and lived in the caves of Egypt to uncover the deepest secrets of the inner soul of man. It was in this profound aloneness and heightened dispassion, that these Early Desert Fathers found God. And it was in this utter silence, that they expounded the deep truths which they discovered and wrote down for generations to come. About the Author
Marilynn Hughes founded 'The Out-of-Body Travel Foundation' in 2003 and has written 75+ books, 40 magazines and around 15 CD's on Out-of-Body Travel and Comparative Religious Mysticism. Dr. Rudy Schild, Professor Emeritus Astrophysics Harvard and Editor of the Journal of Cosmology, and Marilynn Hughes have co-authored a chapter which is included in Volume III of 'The Change.' Marilynn has joined James Van Praagh and the research team at 'The Afterlife Uncovered' which hopes to produce a documentary and subsequent television series. Marilynn Hughes was Ordained as a Christian Minister through the United National Church and the Christian National Church through which she also obtained Ecclesiastical Certification.
