Wise tales was written as a tool to help preserve culture. It is a book that narrates stories handed down from generation to generation, in an updated, easy to follow manner. The book is illustrated with full, vibrant, color images that depict aspects of the Nigerian culture.

The goal of the book is to provide good, wholesome, educative materials for growing children.

Each story is rich in culture and, provides guardians and children with an opportunity to foster open communication through the discussion of morale teaching and, character building moments that are found throughout the stories.

Volume one consists of the following four stories:

1. Why the tortoise has a rough shell.
2. The proud princess.
3. The tortoise and the hare.
4. The little orphaned girl.
