Description
This story was written by Lord Byron's physician when they were staying in a villa near Lake Geneva. They were joined by the Shelleys and Claire Clairmont and due to the inclement weather told each other tales which they later wrote down. Mary Shelley's book was Frankenstein. The story tells of Aubrey, a young Englishman, who accompanies a man of mystery, Lord Ruthven, on a tour of Europe. Ruthven is killed but makes Aubrey swear not to reveal his death for a year and a day. Months later Aubrey sees Lord Ruthven in London and that is when his troubles begin.
