About the Author
Mary Cerullo teaches and writes about the ocean instead. She has written 20 nonfiction books on ocean life for children, including City Fish, Country Fish, Sharks (a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year), Octopus (a Junior Library Guild Selection), Giant Squid (an Outstanding Science Trade Book selection by the NSTA and the CBC), and The Truth About White Sharks (IRA Teacher's Choice Award). Mary is the associate director of Friends of Casco Bay, an environmental group on the Gulf of Maine. Jeffrey L. Rotman is one of the world's leading underwater photographers. Diving and shooting in nearly every ocean and sea in the world, this Boston native combines an artist's eye with a naturalist's knowledge of his subjects. Jeff's work has appeared in numerous popular magazines worldwide and in books for both children and adults. He was named BBC Underwater Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and he won the National Press Photographers Award for Science Pictures of the Year twice.
