Plants: A Marvellous Green Creation - Paperback

Have you ever looked at a plant, a tree, a blade of grass, and wondered at the sheer miracle of its existence? Have you ever stopped to think that without the world of flora, without all creations green, we would not have evolved and be here today? Anthony Leopold van Ewyk has. Once a gardener and therefore intimately familiar with the botanical world, in this philosophical look at nature and its wondrous aspects, he meditates on the unlikely chances that brought life to earth, which gradually developed into the world we see around us. He gives special attention to flowers - beautiful, scented creations of a species that have no eyes to see beauty, no nose to smell fragrance. He keenly observes how the worlds of flora and fauna are so necessarily interlinked; our world dependent on that of plants, though this barely occurs to many of us in our contemporary, technological world. Following his explorations, one cannot help but be filled with his sense of awe and almost childlike delight in such a marvellous creation. Let him take you on a journey into a world that is quite possibly the most amazing part of life.
