About the Author
Thatcher, Lucy: - "Lucy Thatcher is a Children's and YA author from the UK. From the moment she could pick up a pen, Lucy devoted herself to bringing people together through heartful tales. To this day, Lucy still finds home-stapled picture books she created when she was around 4/5 years old (Even she can't read all the writing!). You could often find her writing stories about magical lands, elves, candy and fairies that she dreamed of one-day publishing. This love for writing only grew as she gained more opportunities to create stories in English classes, where teachers often commented on her imagination and increasingly tiny handwriting.... However, the longer and more competitive school became, Lucy's time was limited to studying hard and pursuing more academic and 'sensible' interests. After completing her studies at Truro High School, where she achieved her GCSEs and A-Levels. Lucy went on to study at the University of Plymouth, whilst working part-time. For her second year, Lucy made an exciting yet terrifying decision to study abroad in the USA. Boarding a plane, she flew to Boston in 2018 where she went on to study at Plymouth State University in NH. Later, she transferred to complete her studies in the US full-time. Studying a BSc in Psychology and Law, Lucy's heart was never full - until she took extra classes that brought her back to her passion, storytelling! Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Plymouth State University (USA), Lucy is a member of the historic 'Class of 2020'. All her hard work and studying paid off, leaving Lucy a recipient of the Top 20 Senior Award and a member of the Honours Society. Now home, she has cast her fears aside to become the author she always dreamt of being. Supporting herself by working as a housekeeper, Lucy writes in every spare minute she has - often juggling multiple projects and creative ideas. From picture books to young adult novels, Lucy loves writing stories for all ages! Growing up in Cornwall, when Lucy wasn't reading, she spent her time at the beach, horse riding and running around the countryside she adores. Some of her favourite things include animals, food, travel, movies, and volunteering. Having worked on hurricane relief abroad, fundraising, and the Angel Tree Project, Lucy is always looking for ways she can spread love across the world. Fun fact - Lucy has been inadvertently struck by lightning."Ayinikatt, Anand: - Anand Ayinikatt is an illustrator from India. As a kid, Anand would draw everyday objects he found around him. The sketchbooks and walls are still there, a monument to his childhood drawing skills. As a teenager, he was influenced by his family and friends, as he started drawing ideas and concepts. However, he hadn't ever considered becoming an artist, as that wasn't the 'right way to go'. Instead, he went to college to pursue a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Even in college, he kept his creative spark by getting involved with and designing his college magazine. Right after college, he took a job in the software field. Yet, Anand always kept his love for painting and sketching alive. Even whilst working as a Web Developer, he still found the time to participate in an art exhibition in August 2018. Anand later resigned from programming in 2019, deciding to pursue his passion for illustration with the support of his family and friends. Since then, Anand has been working as a Digital Artist. Seeing the world in all of its colours and glory, his art aims to show us the world through his eyes.
