Set in post-Roman Britain, the story of Merlin and King Arthur continues in Merlin's Trials.

After surviving a devastating battle near Hadrian's Wall, Merlin, the once brilliant scholar and former chief advisor to King Arthur, has disappeared into the remote, primeval forests of Caledonia, running wild as one with the beasts of the woods. No longer able to speak or even reason, he seems unable to help himself let alone others. Yet when enemy forces threaten to topple King Arthur's reign and put all Britannia into peril, will Merlin be able to summon his prophetic powers which appear to be forever lost?
