1954. A publisher named Charlton doubled its output of comic books, and would do so again the next year.
They needed additional talent.
Earlier, a young Steve Ditko had come to New York City, his purpose: to draw comics.
Destiny vectors converged.
This volume, the first entry in Famous Comics' popular series, Ditko at Charlton, gathers some of Ditko's earliest published comics, and the first he did for this publisher. You will find wildly weird and wonderful work from Crime and Justice, From Here to Insanity, Racket Squad in Action, Space Adventures, Strange Suspense Stories, The Thing!, and This Magazine is Haunted.
Begin herein the story of Ditko at Charlton, a chapter of comic art history which continues for the next thirty years, up until that publisher's final efforts.
Introduction by Robin Snyder.
