Description
During the prevailing Communist Czech regime of the '50s, a diverse group of bourgeois intellectuals and dissidents found themselves bound over to a state-run junkyard for labor and reeducation. Their indifferent toils, as well as their flirtation and bonding with the camp's female populace of would-be defectors, are tellingly chronicled in director Jiri Menzel's satirical, banned-for-decades opus.
