Zaffis, John: - John Zaffis is one of the best-known and most popular authorities in the paranormal. His career of more than 40 years began with working with his uncle and aunt, Ed and Lorraine Warren, noted investigators and demonologists. John was drawn into paranormal investigation and demonology, and gained firsthand experience in cases of hauntings, possession, and exorcism. He has worked with prominent exorcists in Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Buddhist faiths, among them Bishop Robert McKenna, Father Malachi Martin, and the Reverend Jun. John's research has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, England, and Scotland. Over the years he has handled thousands of cases involving ghosts, poltergeists, demonic and diabolical entities, and haunted objects. He has also worked extensively with mediums and psychics concerning the afterlife, spirit communication, near-death experiences, and past-life recall. John has been featured in numerous documentaries, television shows, and films, among them the Discovery Channel's A Haunting in Connecticut and Little Lost Souls; NBC's Unsolved Mysteries, Fox News Live; Piers Morgan Tonight, Ghost Hunters, and Ghost Adventures. For three seasons, he starred in his own paranormal reality show about haunted objects, Haunted Collector, on SyFy. He was a producer of the show in its last season. John is featured in The Encyclopedia of Demons and Demonology by Rosemary Ellen Guiley, and in Graveyards and In A Dark Place, by Ed and Lorraine Warren and various co-authors. John's first book, his autobiographical Shadows of the Dark, co-written with Brian McIntyre, was released in 2004. He is co-author, with Rosemary Ellen Guiley, of Haunted by the Things You Love, about haunted objects in his case files. In addition, John runs the Paranormal Research Society of New England, an investigation group he founded in 1998. He makes numerous appearances on radio and is always in demand as a presenter at paranormal conferences and at colleges and universities. Over the years, John has collected hundreds of haunted items in his casework. In 2004, he created the John Zaffis Museum of the Paranormal for the collection. John scripted and starred in a documentary film Museum of the Paranormal, released in 2010 by New Gravity Media, which gives a tour of the museum and highlights some of the haunted objects.Guiley, Rosemary Ellen: - Rosemary Ellen Guiley is a leading expert in the paranormal and metaphysical fields, with more than 60 books published on a wide range of topics, including nine single-volume encyclopedias. She has worked full-time in the field since 1983, researching, investigating, writing, presenting, and teaching. Her work focuses on problem hauntings; interdimensional entity and spirit contact experiences of all kinds; "portals" or geographic areas of intense paranormal activity; technological and mediumistic communications with the dead and spirits; the afterlife; angels; fairies; dreams; spiritual growth and development; and psychic skill building. She has done ground-breaking research on Shadow People and the Djinn. She is also involved in ufology, cryptozoology, past-life regression, and reincarnation. She spends a great deal of her time out in the field conducting investigations and research. In the metaphysical field, Rosemary has studied several modalities of energy healing. Rosemary is ad editor of FATE magazine, and serves on the board of directors and the research committee of the Dr. Edgard Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters (FREE). She is also a board director of the National Museum of Mysteries and Research, a nonprofit educational organization in Columbia, Pennsylvania. She is a former board trustee and the present book review editor of the publications of the Academy for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies, and a founding member of the Afterlife Research and Education Institute. In the past she served on the board of directors of the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
