Dash loves living at home with her family. Many children she knows live at a boarding school far, far away. But Dash's teacher comes to their yurt three times a week for home school.
Today, her teacher reads Dash's favorite book. But a big snowstorm is on its way and she must leave quickly to get home before it hits. Father and Grandfather worry the animals will freeze out in the bitter cold.
But Dash has an idea that just might help her family save their animals.

About the Author
Fenimore, Jan: - Jan Fenimore, an award-winning author and poet, loves reading and writing about indigenous people of the world. After working in middle-school libraries, she developed a desire to educate children through fiction about life and culture of other countries. In her book, Dash Comes to the Rescue, she tells the story of imagination and survival of a Mongolian nomadic family.Kastl, Vickie: - Vickie Kastl was born in Central Oklahoma and fell in love with art in second grade after being praised for a drawing of Abe Lincoln. She graduated from UCO with a BA in Education, taught Art and English for thirty-nine years and was chosen SKIE K20 Innovative Teacher of the Year, and Oklahoma Art Teacher in 1991. Vickie has illustrated several picture books. She and her husband travel to collect stories, pictures, and details. She has four sons, five grandchildren and two dogs, Ritchie and Winnie, who pop up in most of her pictures.
