Dempsey, Catherine: -

Catherine Dempsey lives on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Flatrock, a small town near St. John's. She and her husband started raising bees in 2012 with two hives. Soon she was involved with establishing the Newfoundland and Labrador Beekeeping Association, building an active network of beekeepers across the province. A former elementary school teacher, Catherine loves sharing information about the joys and challenges involved with keeping bees. Daphne's Bees is her first book.

Tomova, Veselina: -

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Veselina Tomova graduated from Leipzig's School of Graphic Art and Book Design before moving to Newfoundland. She has illustrated books in Germany, Bulgaria and Canada, including the children's books Star's Island, Maggie and Hero, An Old Man's Winter Night: Ghostly Tales and Spirited Away: Fairy Stories of Old Newfoundland. She lives in St. John's, Newfoundland, in a small house overlooking the harbour.
