Description
We produced and sold 1,000 bottles of a fully commercial perfume under our own brand (trademark) and company name with an investment of just over $2,000. From this $2,000 we had enough leftover materials to get started on our next 1,000 bottles.
We were not industry professionals, perfumers or chemists - far from it - but we discovered and used methods that you can use too. Our production "machinery" cost less than $50 and was obtained locally. Every bottle we produced was sold at $26.95. We never offered a discount.
Creating Your Own Perfume With A 1700 Percent Markup is the step-by-step story of what we did, and a guide for you, your company or your investors to do it too. We followed up on our success with a second fragrance... and then a third. The methods described here in detail (with photos) can help you develop a fragrance line of your own.
The first edition of this book described only our own first experience with perfume. This, the third edition, includes guidance for those with investment money who want to start, right off, on a larger scale using professional services for fragrance development, bottling, and packaging.
What Creating Your Own Perfume With A 1700 Percent Markup makes clear is that, regardless of the size of your ambition (or your wallet), this is a clear path for you to begin producing and selling your own perfume and developing a business with it.
