Description
Though he never achieved the fame and recognition of contemporaries like Willie Nelson or Merle Haggard, country musician Blaze Foley (Ben Dickey) was a talented singer/songwriter and fascinating character. This understated biopic from director/co-writer Ethan Hawke tells Blaze's story through depictions of his love for the woman (Alia Shawkat) who became his inspiration, his final performance, and a radio interview conducted with two of his friends (Charlie Sexton, Josh Hamilton) following his 1989 death. 129 min.
