About the Author
Reverend William Henry Harrison Murray, also known as Adirondack Murray, was a clergyman and author of an influential series of articles and books that popularized the Adirondacks, including the first comprehensive guidebook on how to camp, Adventures in the Wilderness; or, Camp-Life in the Adirondacks, which would go on to become one of the most influential books in the conservation movement of the 19th century and be largely responsible for popularizing the Adirondacks as a vacation destination.
Laura Rice has been the Chief Curator at the Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake since 2003, where she helps oversee the museum, manage archives, and bring new discoveries to display and exhibits to life.
