- Hide and Seek: No Ticks, Please
Description
Joséeacute; and Alex's adventures in the bushes, tall grasses, and wooded areas put them at risk for getting ticks. During their exploring, they discover hidden treasures and also hidden dangers. Alex struggles with José's discovery of one such danger-a tick--and how it will change their adventures. Back at home, Alex tells her mother, "He said he didn't feel the tick climb on him. He said his mom found it when she did a tick check. Mom, what's a tick check?" Children five to fourteen years old are the most at risk for getting Lyme and tick-borne diseases. Hide-and-Seek: No Ticks, Please offers Lyme disease prevention education for school-age children, and through the No Ticks, Please steps they discover how to prevent ticks from transmitting diseases. This non-threatening story will be a valuable companion to any home library--and for any child that likes to play outdoors.
