About the Author
Mary Oliver was born and raised in Southeastern Kentucky and is an elementary music teacher. She has been teaching since 1982. Her first children's book, "Miss Molly's Blackberry Pie", represents the people and culture of her childhood where picking blackberries in the summer, swinging on the front porch swing, listening to her grandmother tell ghost stories, going to church potlucks, and helping out a neighbor were common and treasured events. Mary has a BA degree in Art Education from the University of Kentucky, an MA degree in Elementary Education from Union College, Rank I in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and a National Board Certification in Early and Middle Music. She has two children, Jaedyn and Sulley.
