The efforts of British actresses Emily (Jane Birkin) and Charlotte (Geraldine Chaplin) in an experimental playlet so impressed rich playwright Clémont (Jean-Pierre Kalfon) that he retained them for a one-off performance of an unfinished work for dinner guests at his palatial home.
