On a cliff at the edge of the ocean, at a house with a hundred years of bloodshed, a young woman dies on a picturesque beach-murdered at the hands of her own fiancé.
When Meg discovers evidence of a murder at a garage sale, the only thing to do is to investigate it. She knows who the victim is, where it happened, how it happened... and even who the murderer must be. It should be a straightforward case-except that the suspect is Calvin Arud. Charismatic, rich, and an accomplished actor with a solid alibi, he seems untouchable, and the arrest that she was hoping for isn't coming anytime soon.
But Meg is determined to find justice for the dead girl, no matter what it takes.
Even if it means using her knowledge of Cal's life and dead fiancée to get close to him in the hopes of finding more evidence.
Even if it means spending a weekend with him and a small group of thrill-seekers at his haunted house by the sea, cut off from the world by a storm.
Even if it pits her against a murderer-and maybe something else, more dangerous than she could ever imagine.
