The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil puts a crime boss and a detective on the same side of a serial killer hunt, and neither of them enjoys it.
What to expect
A Korean thriller played straight, built on fists rather than gunfire. The odd couple friction between the two leads is what viewers keep coming back to.
It is funnier than the premise suggests, in the dry way where nobody in the film thinks they are being funny.
Who it's for
Anyone who came out of Train to Busan or The Outlaws wanting more of the same lead performer working in a harder register.
Synopsis
After barely surviving a violent attack by an elusive serial killer, crime boss Jang Dong-su (Don Lee) finds himself forming an unlikely partnership with local detective Jung Tae-seok (Kim Moo Yul) to catch the sadistic killer simply known as "K".
