Description
Joselyn was building her career in Los Angeles recording commercials, producing nationally syndicated radio shows and meeting music producers when the 2008 economic downturn hit. After transitioning from Hollywood to homelessness for too long, she decides to move back to her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She unexpectedly gets a teaching position with at-risk students at a high school in a section of Albuquerque known as "The War Zone." She's jolted into the realities many students and teachers live, and now has to face all of the childhood traumas she ran away from.
About the Author
Garcia, Annalise: - The 2008 economic downturn made it impossible for Annalise to sustain herself in broadcasting any more so she gave up on L.A. and went home to Albuquerque to make a new life. When she unexpectedly takes a job as a high school teacher, she's jarred by the challenge. This four-year experience inspired Annalise to write her first book Teacher Unhinged under a pen name. It's a glimpse of what teacher life is like. Annalise used writing to process the secondary trauma of teaching and the family issues she had run away from. Annalise is now teaching during the pandemic.
