Small Town Boys - Paperback

When Scout and her father, Bill, move to a quiet, small town from the bustling city, they're hopeful for a refreshing change. For the most part, everyone seems friendly enough in their new home; the townspeople seem cordial without being over-bearing, and Scout finds herself very quickly making new friends. There's plenty to do in their new area, and the festivity that Scout notices from the people in her community somehow invites a feeling of belonging. Scout and Bill finally feel like they might be able to move on from the pain of their past. Everything seems to be perfect, so why does it feel like something is off? As Scout adjusts to her new life in a new home, she soon discovers that the people in this town seem to be holding a secret over a tragedy that occurred several years ago.

Scout soon befriends two different men that manage to captivate her. The quirkiness and originality from Kyle is something that Scout recognizes in herself, which draws her to form a unique and unshakable friendship with him. When her eyes land on Gage for the first time, she feels an unfamiliar fire inside of her, which leaves her enraptured and yearning for more. For Scout, it's the first time that she's ever formed such strong relationships with other people, both platonically and romantically. As her feelings grow, the unspoken mystery heightens. Both Kyle and Gage know about the gruesome misfortune of the town all too well, and they don't hesitate to share with Scout what they know. Packed with horror elements, suspense, and accented with fall themes, Scout learns that when exposed, the past can resurface with a chilling trepidation. As she discovers the truth about what really happened in this small town, Scout finds her life forever changed.
