Second Chances: A Jules Spenser Novel - Paperback

She's brilliant, beautiful, and has an attitude to match. Lithe, yet powerful-Eighteen-year-old Jules Spenser lives in the fast lane-her gait has a matchless step, like a nymph riding the wind. Born with an eidetic mind that spins in ones and zeros, acceleration, velocity, and displacement are the vectors she lives by.Time is the only thing she can't get enough of, and she is fast tracked to PhD's in Quantum Physics and Information Technology, by her grandfather Buck Axele Davidssen, a retired USMC sniper, and chairman of The Corporation-a partnership of Marines and scientists who fight terror-foreign and domestic. And now, she holds her dream job as a nano-biotechnologist for The Corporation. At the Advanced Nanoscience Research Center on South Padre Island, Texas-The Corporations largest asset, Jules unveils her latest invention-a programmable nano-biomedical chip with endless uses.Planted deep in the medial temporal lobe of the brain, the region known as the Limbic System, the chip will circumvent damaged areas that had become dysfunctional after a stroke or other head injuries by replicating the electronic signals from neighboring neurons. Her presentation stuns the scientific community, and the research centers two largest donors-the Director of Central Intelligence Agency, and his superior, the Director of National Intelligence, both of whom are already dreaming of other uses. But there are other groups who are interested, too. The Dark State wants it for total mind control, and they are coming for it with both barrels loaded. They would also like to touch something special on Jules, Buck and his wife on paper only, Dr. Charlotte Vice-Davidssen, the President of the United States of America-any major artery would do.Trained in assault rifles, hand guns, and hand-to-hand combat from the time she could walk-Jules is on the warpath, and plans on touching back, too.Buckle in for the ride.
