University history professor Davey Warren is offered an intriguing career opportunity when receiving an assignment to research and investigate the colonial property of Rowe House in White Birch, New Hampshire. Built in the 1600s, Rowe House is famous for being a former site of colonial with trials...and is rumored to be haunted, with many visitors reporting strange occurrences in the house and around the property. Beginning with his first night in the house after his move from South Carolina, Davey is alarmed by what he perceives to be "unusual disturbances" inside the house and in the mysterious clearing located on the backside of the property.
With the help of his real estate agent and Rowe House property manager, Kelly Barlow, Davey sets out to discover the true history behind Rowe House and expose the truth of the so-called "hauntings." Are the events at Rowe House mere coincidence enhanced by the colonial witch trials, or is there an unseen force perpetrating the reported disturbances?
Kevin Griswold is a university history instructor from South Carolina with 23+ years working in education, and he holds a B.S. in History and an M.A. in History. Kevin has also taught history on the JUCO, secondary, and middle school levels. His debut novella, Rowe House Clearing, is available for purchase.
