Indeed, Songs Like 'Lost Highway', 'They'll Never Take Her Love From Me', 'You Are The One' And?'I Love You Because' Are Far Better Known Via Other Artist's Recordings. Yet He Recorded Regularly During The 1940s And 1950s, Bequeathing A Hugely Impressive Body Of Work. Payne Hasn't Been Served Well With Reissues In The Digital Era, And This Compilation Seeks To Redress The Balance. It Traces His Story From The Late 40s To The Early 60s, Taking In Eight Different Record Labels Along The Way, And Includes His Brief Flirtation With Rockabilly, As "Rock Rogers".
