Nothing Is Forever - Paperback

Marcel Emerson, one of the rising voices in fiction, is back with his fourth novel, Nothing is Forever. Emerson's riveting new novel takes the readers on a supernatural journey while exploring themes of racism, lust, forgiveness and politics during the eighteenth century when the color lines were breached only in darkness. Jacques, a slave living on a vineyard in France, is blessed with undeniable good looks that provides him with privileges the other slaves can only dream about; but, his privileges come with a price. His mother Clarisse, who was banished from the plantation the day he was born, comes back to reclaim what was stolen from her. Now a vampire, Clarisse needs her son's blood to perform a spell that will end a curse bestowed on all vampires and allow her to walk proudly in the daylight. Raina and Patrick, the aristocratic fraternal twins of the Master, are polar opposites and find themselves locked in a love triangle that changes their lives forever. Raina, beautiful and bold, is determined to right the wrongs of the past and will stop at nothing to make Jacques pay for his past crimes. Patrick, sexy and irresistible, finds himself alone after his family's fortune is destroyed. In this moment he finds love in a hopeless place. He meets Vladimir, a mysterious and powerful vampire, who shows him how to survive on his own. Years later, Jacques, Raina and Patrick find themselves in New Orleans, where the supernatural reigns supreme. Together, they will answer one crucial question: was it all worth it? Nothing Is Forever tests the limits of love and questions what it truly means to move on after tragedy.
