No Other Word - Paperback

This is a collection of spiritual verse distilled over the years by a published American poet. The traditional style and the crystalline music of the poems in this volume is informed by the doctrine of the Religio Perennis - timeless wisdom and art of the return to the Divine Origin. Echoing and reflecting one another, the poems revolve around the primacy of the Truth, around concentrated and persevering Prayer, around the necessity for virtue in the spiritual life. In lucent and lyrical language, and reflecting a deep sense of the sacred, these verses are centered in that Eternal Now which is always present, regardless of time or place. Arising from a life of prayer, they tell the story of a soul wayfaring in the remembrance of God. Readers with an interest in the way of invocation (japa-yoga, dhikr, hesychasm, nembutsu...) will find here at every turn intimately familiar insights from a fellow on the path. Generally, readers with a contemplative artistic bent will find here glimpses of the blessed and ever-mysterious junction between the music of language and the depths of realisation.
