Nano-Bio-Medicine for Gastrointestinal Diseases explores the transformative potential of biomedicine in gastroenterology, from innovative drug delivery systems to nanoscale imaging techniques. The book's content offers a detailed analysis of emerging technologies that are revolutionizing the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal disorders. By addressing conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal cancers, readers gain a holistic understanding of how biomedicine is reshaping the entire landscape of gastroenterology. With a focus on personalized medicine approaches and future perspectives, this book inspires collaboration and awareness among researchers, medical practitioners, and patients, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and quality of life.

Sections cover a wide range of topics that are essential for understanding the intersection of biomedicine and gastroenterology. Beginning with an introduction to NanoBioMedicine and its application in gastrointestinal diseases, readers are guided through nanoscale drug delivery systems, nanoimaging techniques, and nanotheranostics in cancer treatment. Specific chapters address the role of nanotechnology in managing conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease, while also exploring the integration of artificial intelligence and big data analytics.

Chaturvedi, Vivek: -

Dr. Vivek K. Chaturvedi is a Young-Scientist Fellow (Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India). Before joining the laboratory as a Young Scientist Fellow, He worked as a Postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Gastroenterology, IMSBHU, Varanasi. Dr Chaturvedi's research interests include the synthesis and functionalization of nanobiomaterials, as well as their fabrication, to develop biosensors for early detection and treatment of cancer and gastrointestinal diseases. Besides these, he has published many original articles in peer-reviewed high-impact journals along with internationally edited and authored books.

Singh, Jay: -

Dr. Jay is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Institute of Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, India, since 2017. He received his Ph.D. degree in Polymer Science from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology in 2010 and did MSc and BSc from Allahabad University, India. He is actively engaged in the development of nanomaterials (CeO2, NiO, rare-earth metal oxide, Ni, Nife2O4, Cu2O, Graphene, RGO etc.), based nanobiocomposite, conducting polymer and self-assembled monolayers based clinically important biosensors for estimation of bioanalaytes such as cholesterol, xanthine, glucose, pathogens and pesticides/toxins using DNA and antibodies. He is actively engaged in fabricating metal oxide-based biosensors for clinical diagnosis, food packaging applications, drug delivery, and tissue engineering applications.

Singh, Anurag Kumar: - Dr. Anurag Kumar Singh is a Research Associate (ICMR-RA) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at IIT BHU, Varanasi. He earned his PhD from the Centre of Experimental Medicine and Surgery, IMS, BHU, and an M. Pharm from Central University of Rajasthan. With more than 3.5 years of postdoctoral experience, he has worked at Alabama State University (Cancer Biology Research and Training) and Bar-Ilan University (Institute of Nanotechnology & Advanced Materials, Israel). His research centers on nano-particulate systems for chronic pain, neurodegenerative disorders, and brain-targeted drug delivery, including dendrimers, nanoporous silica/silicon materials, and polymeric nanoparticles for controlled delivery. He aims to develop nanomedicines for biomedical applications and to bridge engineering, pharmaceutical, and medical research. He has published widely, including reviews/editorials, and authored/editor of four books and over ten book chapters.
