Description
Details: Miles Davis recorded his classic album Kind of Blue in 1959 and was at his peak in the jazz world... The year after he went on some tours to promote the album and his music. He toured Europe twice in 1960: the first time with John Coltrane in April 1960 and then with Sonny Stitt (on this CD) who replaced Coltrane who was a star in his own right and wanted to do various solo projects. These recordings are some of the best tracks from Paris and Stockholm and are viewed as better recording than the John Coltrane tour as by that time Coltrane was into many long solos that never stopped and was too much for many jazz fans. Coltrane would say to Miles after a gig that he can t help it and could not stop... Miles blunt replay was try taking the sax out of your mouth. These are classic rare recordings that have been re mastered to bring out the quality. Miles Davis is the biggest selling jazz artist ever, his Kind of Blue album has been voted the best jazz album ever and this is the tour to promote this album and his other music!
