After Olivia experienced severe bullying following an epileptic seizure in class, the harassment escalated to cyber-bullying with students creating an "Olivia Haters" website on MySpace. When Emily and Sarah Buder learned of her story in March 2007, they asked fellow students to write encouraging letters. With growing media attention and the Internet, what began as a project to send a few letters grew to nearly 3,000 emails and hand-written letters from around the nation and world from people of all ages, including bullies themselves.
