John Michael Montgomery was born in Danville, Kentucky on January, 20th 1965 but was raised in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He had more than 30 singles on the Billboard Country chart including 7 No. 1s and 13 Top 10s. While appearing at the Austin City Saloon in Lexington, John Michael Montgomery was spotted by an executive from Atlantic Records. This led to a deal with the record label's newly opened Nashville division.
