Harrison, Harry: - Harry Harrison (1925-2012) was an American science fiction writer, editor, illustrator, and anthologist whose work combined energetic storytelling with satire, invention, and a deep suspicion of bureaucracy, militarism, and unexamined authority. Born Henry Maxwell Dempsey in Stamford, Connecticut, Harrison served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during the Second World War and later worked in comics, illustration, and magazine publishing before becoming one of the best-known science fiction authors of the postwar era.Harrison is widely remembered for the Stainless Steel Rat series, the Deathworld novels, Make Room!
