Chet by newcomer Tom Haikin is fresh, edgy and insightful. Written with a bold and playful prose, this debut is pure, straightforward metaphor for mankind's missed opportunities to make a difference in life. When Chet, an easygoing, at times bumbling guy misses his opportunity to serve the Almighty, God ropes him up to heaven for a little one-on-one consultation.

Tom Haikin has enjoyed the irony in human behavior for over half a century. The inspiration for this, his first novel, was the Hebrew word, "Chet" which literally means "to miss the mark". He drew on his 30 + years in the corporate world along with a lifelong curiosity about the afterlife to create this story of someone who completely missed the mark. Tom currently lives in a California mountain community with his wife of over 35 years where he works full-time as a contracts manager.
