When Carmen (Natascha McElhone) was 16, her older brother entered the priesthood-and, pursuant to Maltese custom, she was bonded to him as a helpmate. With her sibling's death 34 years later, her path was once again her own-and she was only too ready for a voyage of self-discovery. Writer-director Valerie Buhagiar's affecting study, inspired by the experiences of her own aunt, also stars Steven Love, Richard Clarkin, Henry Zammit Cordina.
