Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is at the end of a three-year tour as sole inhabitant of a lunar outpost that harvests a clean fuel source to send back to Earth. His only companion is GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey), the station's robot. When a mishap caused by isolation-induced hallucinations leads Sam to encounter an alternate version of himself, he must work to uncover the truth behind the mysterious doppelganger.
