We Are Cheesemakers

A young family is forced to leave the land they love in search of a new home. Poisoned soils and dried up rivers have made farming impossible. Holding onto memories of humble ingredients, Papa learns how to make a different kind of cheese and the long and slow process of waiting begins. As the seasons pass, the cheese matures and time for a stamp approaches. Will the cheese wheels make the mark? A stamp, is what the family is waiting for too. We Are Cheesemakers brings issues of food and climate justice to the forefront, moving little citizens of change to reimagine big, global ideas with care and compassion.


About the Author
Parmeet Arora Bori, is a Toronto-based, Indian-born mixed media artist and illustrator, with over 18 years of experience in Surface Pattern Design. Her artistic journey is deeply intertwined with personal experiences, from reliving cherished childhood memories to finding solace after the loss of her mother to cancer and embracing motherhood herself. Parmeet's work has been exhibited at Arts Etobicoke and Northern Contemporary Gallery as well as being showcased at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. She holds painting and drawing workshops including private collaborations. Parmeet believes in the transformative power of art to inspire and uplift and is committed to fostering creativity in individuals of all ages.
