The best parenting books answer a question about one age, which is why the shelf that helped through the toddler years can go quiet the week school starts. The real decision is rarely which expert to trust. It is which stretch of childhood you are standing in, and whether the trouble in front of you is talking, discipline, school, or a phone.
Parenting advice sorts itself by problem as much as by age: getting heard without a standoff, correcting without a scene, deciding how much struggle to allow, and working out what to do about screens. A few of these are written for one specific stretch and say so in the opening chapter. Others hand over a method that still gets used a decade later.
