When Yuri Santacruz attended the appointment of Adolf Hitler as chancellor, he could not imagine how much his life in Berlin would change. He had arrived there a few months earlier, after fleeing, along with part of his family, from St. Petersburg, suffocated by a revolution that had left them with nothing. Yuri was also deprived of his mother and younger brother, whom the Russian authorities did not allow to leave the country.
Already in Berlin, his sense of justice will drive him to defend a young communist attacked by Hitler's stormtroopers. That day, he will also meet his great love, Claudia. His life will take an unexpected turn, and what until then had been his top priority, finding his mother and brother, will be replaced by a more urgent one in those tumultuous times: staying alive.

Paloma Sánchez-Garnica (Madrid, 1962) es licenciada en Derecho y Geografía e Historia. Autora de El gran arcano (2006) y La brisa de Oriente (2009), su novela El alma de las piedras (2010) tuvo un gran éxito entre los lectores. Las tres heridas (2012) y, sobre todo, La sonata del silencio, de la que se hizo una adaptación para una serie en TVE, supusieron su consagración entre la crítica y los lectores como una escritora de gran personalidad literaria. Con Mi recuerdo es más fuerte que tu olvido, de la que se publicaron cinco ediciones y que se ha traducido para todos los países de habla anglosajona, obtuvo el Premio de Novela Fernando Lara 2016.

Author of El gran arcano (2006) and La brisa de Oriente (2009), her novel El alma de las piedras (2010) was a great success among readers. Las tres heridas (2012) and, above all, La sonata del silencio, which was adapted into a series on TVE, established her as a writer of great literary personality among critics and readers. With Mi recuerdo es más fuerte que tu olvido, which had five editions published and has been translated for all English-speaking countries, she won the Premio de Novela Fernando Lara 2016.
