Yetiwise is a weekly comic strip about a Yeti navigating and commenting on the world around it - a world that is dark and sad way too often, but reframed with a demipolitical twist that adds a little ironic light. The world is full of pigs, rats, beavers, eagles, and the occasional tardigrade. They lie, posture, cancel trees, rename dams, and pursue their Manifest Destiny. Yetiwise watches. Yetiwise comments. Sometimes Yetiwise simply sighs.

This is Year Uno - the first 60 weeks of the strip, collected. Political satire, environmental absurdity, existential humor, and the occasional tender moment that sneaks up on you. All filtered through the meteorologically dry wit of cartoonist Jay Myers.

Myers, Jay: - I grew up on satire. My favorites were Airplane; Young Frankenstein; Blazing Saddles; Zelig; Sleepers; M*A*S*H; and so many more. Satire streams through me-often unnoticed and unrecognized. I grew up on such dry wit that, intravenous liquids are a must. This series is satirical. It is parody. I won't say at its finest, but it might be its driest.Whether illustration, visual design, UX design, or writing, it's all storytelling. As an illustrator, I love the power of a simple story told well. I've spent my life hunting and capturing stories, learning how to see them, and bringing them to life through the written and drawn word. I do this because books have always captured my mind and heart. While I haven't always been much of a reader, I have loved the wonder and odyssey of bound words on dead trees.
