Director Ken Russell's moving adaptation of the D.H. Lawrence's novel is set in 1920s England and chronicles the complicated romantic lives of artist Gudrun Brangwen (Glenda Jackson, who won a Best Actress Oscar) and her sister, schoolmistress Ursula (Jennie Linden).
